Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools in England in order to raise the attainment of disadvantaged children of all abilities in order for them to reach their full potential. There is also funding to support children with parents in the Armed Forces, children who are Looked After and Children who have been Adopted from Care. Sherford Vale School will develop ways to use this money in order to improve outcomes and opportunities for children.
Principles of Pupil Premium
Key building blocks have been identified which are most successful in raising attainment for all children, and we will apply these in our approach when using this additional funding.
1. A whole school ethos that everyone will achieve their full potential regardless of their background.
2. High-quality teaching will be an entitlement for everyone.
3. Individual learning needs will be identified quickly and plans put in place to support children.
4. All children will have access to a broad range of activities and experiences, including residential visits.
It is important to note that all children in Foundation, Years 1 and 2 are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals; however, parents must register for Free School Meals to become eligible for the Pupil Premium funding. If eligible, the funding remains in place for the following six years. Parents who may be eligible should contact their Local Authority to check eligibility or speak to our Office Managers who will be happy to help.
