This term, Ducklings have taken part in the RSPB Birdwatch 2020 and have learnt all about the birds that visit our school grounds, gardens and parks at this time of year.
As part of our forest school sessions, we made fruit bird feeders to help us attract birds to the school field and we became bird watchers, making binoculars to help us spot different birds around school and in our nursery garden.
We learnt their names, talked about our favourite birds and why we like them. The children received survey sheets to detail birds they spotted at home and the results were submitted to the RPSB. As a class, we spotted almost 250 birds - a big thank you to all the parents and carers who supported the children in completing the survey.
