A trip back to WW2 for Owl class

Owl Class had an amazing day travelling back to 1941 for our World War Two themed school day.

We started the day with an air raid practice - little did we know that two more air raids would occur throughout the day! Our English lesson involved dictation and then learning the poem we had copied, while maths included chanting times tables and learning about the old money used at the time.

We were also lucky enough to try a delicious vegetable soup which would have been a typical packed lunch option during the war.  The afternoon involved following advice from two Government posters: 'Make-do and Mend' and 'Dig for Victory' - we are hoping to be able to harvest our newly planted crops later in the year.

A huge thank you to Mums, Dads and Carers who helped your children look the part for this fantastic day!
