Year 4 Box Museum Trip

On Wednesday 25th May, Year 4 had an absolutely superb day out at the Box Museum, enhancing their learning on the Voyage of the Mayflower and the history behind it.

We started the morning with a workshop on The Mayflower, looking at replica artefacts from the 1620s and discussing how history has many sides to a story. We learned about how the Wampanoag tribe and First People, lived and how they used the land to survive. We also studied the replica artefacts of the Pilgrims and other European settlers.

After this we were taken on a guided tour of the museum, exploring the different galleries, including a 3D film about how Plymouth has grown and developed throughout history. We closed the day with a tour of the animal gallery and historical periods artefacts gallery, completing sketches of artefacts and recording where they came from and the year they were discovered.

The children behaved impeccably and were a real credit to the school and themselves.

Well done Year 4!
